Tourism, Culture and Cinematography Minister Kandula Durgesh, speaking at the Lidcap celebrations in Guntur on October 4, emphasised the potential of the local leather sector to compete with multinational brands. Durgesh praised Chief Minister Naidu for training youth in leather craftsmanship and advocated for the expansion Lidcap’s products beyond footwear, with more state and central funding for product development and skills training.
Additionally, the minister launched CBN Raksha Kendras and distributed certificates to youth who have completed training through Lidcap, underscoring the government’s commitment to supporting the growth and modernisation of the leather industry in Andhra Pradesh.
