Large Asia-centred leather manufacturer Primeasia has published its 2025 Sustainability Report, outlining a new five-year sustainability roadmap and highlighting progress in climate action, circularity and supply chain traceability.
The leather manufacturer described 2025 as a “foundational year” as it established its Roadmap to 2030, introducing updated targets across operational excellence, circularity, climate action and social impact.
Among the year’s key milestones was the verification of its Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) near-term 2035 and long-term 2050 net-zero targets, covering Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions, including Forest, Land and Agriculture (FLAG) emissions.
Primeasia also expanded renewable energy generation at its Vietnam tannery, installing 5.766MWp of rooftop solar during 2025. The company said the system is expected to meet almost all of the site’s daytime electricity demand and marks progress towards its goal of using 100% renewable energy across its facilities by 2040.
The report also details the company’s circularity ambitions, including plans to recycle 100% of its industrial waste and expand reusable packaging takeback programmes with footwear manufacturing partners. Meanwhile, traceability to birth farms or groups of birth farms increased from 11% in 2024 to 17% in 2025, although Primeasia acknowledged further industry collaboration will be needed to achieve its 2030 target of full traceability.
