Currently, global economic development faces
increasing uncertainties, with geopolitical conflicts being frequent and trade
protectionism intensifying. In particular, the tariff war initiated by the
United States against the global community has constrained global economic
recovery and significantly impacted the development of China leather industry.
Despite this, the overall positive fundamentals of China leather industry
remain unchanged, and we remain confident in its future development.
In the international market, China leather industry
has established a strong competitive advantage in industrial ecology,
encompassing the completeness of the industrial chain, the responsiveness of
the supply chain, and the degree of collaboration and activity in the
innovation chain. In recent years, turbulence and volatility of the
international trade landscape have further propelled Chinese leather industry
enterprises to accelerate their global production capacity and market layout.
New business models and formats such as cross-border e-commerce and overseas
warehouses are also continuously evolving, providing more robust support for
industry exports.
From the perspective of the domestic overall
environment, China's domestic market holds immense potential. With the
continuous implementation of national policies aimed at expanding domestic
demand and stimulating consumption, consumer confidence in the domestic market
is gradually increasing. This will also continuously facilitate the effective
release of demand for leather industry products. From January to July, the
total retail sales of consumer goods increased by 4.8% year-on-year, with
retail sales of clothing and shoes increasing by 2.9% year-on-year, marking a
significant improvement compared to the whole year of 2024. In recent years,
the country has attached great importance to the increasingly severe involution-style
competition and made relevant arrangements for comprehensive rectification of
such competition, which will further ensure high-quality development of China
leather industry.
From the perspective of the industry's own
development, the engine role of technological innovation is becoming
increasingly evident. In the 15th Five-Year Plan period, China
leather industry will need to make more breakthroughs in expanding material
varieties, implementing the "dual carbon" strategy to deepen green
development, leveraging diverse cultures to enhance design and branding,
embracing digitalization and intelligence to improve production efficiency, and
building high-end supply chains and value chains. It will continuously
accelerate the industry's development towards high-end, intelligent, and green
directions, and addressing the persistent issues of product homogenization and involution-style
competition through innovation.
In summary, faced with the
complex and ever-changing domestic and international economic environments, the
CLIA will lead industry enterprises to seek opportunities amidst challenges and
break through the shackles of brand development in competition. Among these
measures, building a high-quality exhibition platform is one of the key
measures. Through Moda China, we aim to help industry enterprises explore
larger and broader markets, simultaneously introducing a group of enterprises,
that can represent China’s brand strength to compete with international
brands, to the entire country and even
the world, injecting more momentum and confidence into the healthy development
of the industry.
