Nice Footwear strengthens Favaro and doubles production
Nice Footwear is strengthening its subsidiary Favaro Manifattura Calzaturiera. The operation is part of the growth path launched by Nice Footwear to build a manufacturing hub in the Riviera del Brenta, in Veneto. This investment follows the one already announced last April, which involves the construction of a new plant of more than 6,000 square meters in Vigonza (Padua). The company plans to make the site the new headquarters of Corrado Maretto by next year. Bruno Conterno, CEO of Nice Footwear, explains the direction taken by the Padua-based company.
Nice Footwear strengthens Favaro
Nice Footwear is investing in its subsidiary Favaro Manifattura Calzaturiera, based in Padua and specialized in the production of high-end footwear. The investment has two objectives: to increase production and internalize some processing stages. The company will launch a second production line, allowing the site’s production capacity to double. The project also includes the internalization of new processes, as dedicated areas have been created for cutting, stitching, skiving and patternmaking. The company plans to gradually increase staff, also by adding new specialized professionals with the support of training pathways offered by Nice Academy.
Unlocking potential
“Our goal isn’t simply to acquire companies, but to fully unlock their potential, strengthening skills, organization and production capacity”, says Bruno Conterno, CEO of Nice Footwear, in a press release. Conterno also says the investment supports Italy’s manufacturing heritage and “fits into a path of progressive supply-chain integration”.
For Nice Footwear’s CEO: “We’re building an industrial system capable of connecting complementary specializations, while keeping at the center the artisanal quality that makes Made in Italy recognized worldwide. Favaro Manifattura Calzaturiera was Nice Footwear’s first building block, acquired in 2021. Other companies then followed: Emmegi, Corrado Maretto, Dyva and Emmepier. And after creating the manufacturing hub in the Riviera del Brenta, Nice Footwear’s next step could be to cross regional borders.
