Dr Martens has reported a return to profit growth in FY26 despite a slight decline in revenue, saying the business is now better positioned for sustainable long-term growth.
For the 52 weeks ended March 29, 2026, group revenue totalled £764.9 million (US$1.02 billion), down from £787.6 million (US$1.05 billion) the previous year, while constant currency revenue was £776.3 million (US$1.03 billion). However, adjusted profit before tax increased 61% to £55.0 million (US$73.34 million), compared with £34.1 million (US$45.47 million) in FY25. Reported profit before tax rose to £32.7 million (US$43.61 million), up from £8.8 million (US$11.73 million) a year earlier. The company sold 10.2 million pairs of shoes during the year, compared with 10.5 million in FY25.

Chief Executive Ije Nwokorie described FY26 as the company’s “year of the pivot”, saying Dr Martens had successfully shifted to a consumer-first operating model while improving the quality of its revenues.

“Our focus on execution is paying off: we are improving the quality of revenues while strengthening margins, cash generation, the Balance Sheet and overall model resilience,” he said. The company added that it remains focused on scaling higher-quality revenues rather than pursuing volume growth at any cost.

During the year, Dr Martens reduced reliance on discounted products in the Americas wholesale channel, expanded its product families, signed new distribution partnerships across Latin America, the UAE and the Philippines, and simplified its operating model by replacing its regional structure with market-focused general managers. Product families now account for 9% of pairs sold, triple their contribution in FY25.

The company also highlighted continued investment in its retail strategy, including the opening of its first “beacon store” on Brewer Street in London’s Soho district. Designed as a culture-led destination rather than a traditional flagship, the store features community events and an expanded range of premium Made in England products and collaborations.

On sustainability, Dr Martens reported that more than 98% of its leather is now sourced from Leather Working Group Gold-rated tanneries. The company also recorded a 73% increase in pre-loved pairs sold through its ReWair resale platform in the U.S. and launched the first official repair and customisation station at the Brewer Street store.

Looking ahead, Dr Martens said FY27 will mark the beginning of the scaling phase of its strategy, with increased investment in branding and retail aimed at driving profitable, sustainable growth while maintaining pricing discipline and strengthening its premium positioning.
