The President of the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), Syed Ahtesham Mazhar, attanded an online meeting with representatives of the Pakistan Institute of Fashion and Design to discuss education and training initiatives aimed at strengthening Pakistan’s leather industry.

During the meeting, participants discussed the introduction of new leather sector-related courses designed to strengthen technical skills, innovation and workforce development in response to the changing needs of the industry. Discussions focused on preparing a more skilled workforce capable of supporting the sector’s growth, competitiveness and modernisation.

Mazhar highlighted the importance of closer collaboration between industry and academia, stressing the need for practical, market-oriented training programmes to address emerging industry requirements and improve opportunities for younger workers entering the leather sector.
