The 14th Freiberg Leather Days will take place in Münster, Germany, from July 1–2, 2026, with registration and the Call for Papers are now officially open.
Co-organised by the German Association for Tannery Chemistry and Technology (VGCT) and FILK Freiberg, the annual conference is a key meeting point for the European tanning and leather industry, bringing together researchers, technology providers and industry leaders to discuss innovation, sustainability and market transformation.
Following a well-attended 13th edition, which welcomed around 180 participants and nearly 30 speakers, the 2026 event will again focus on the sector’s response to technological, regulatory and commercial change. The programme will highlight application-driven research, data-led insights and practical solutions aimed at accelerating implementation across the leather value chain.
Call for Papers
The Call for Papers invites practice-focused contributions covering topics such as new and alternative tanning technologies, sustainable raw materials and processes, advances in characterisation and analysis, automation and digitalisation, and the role of traditional tanneries in the era of Industry 4.0. The abstract submission deadline is March 15, 2026.
