Muno has officially launched as a new independent company from Stahl, positioning itself as a market leader in next-generation solutions for the wet-end phase of leather production.
Building on a century of leather expertise, the company aims to combine technical excellence with sustainability and customer-focused partnerships across the global leather value chain.
Muno enters the market with more than 450 professionals, 20 application laboratories and offices in strategic regions, and production sites in Italy and India. Its portfolio spans the full wet-end process, including beamhouse, tanning, retanning, fatliquoring, dyeing and waterproofing, supplying customers in more than 60 countries across the footwear, automotive, upholstery and leather goods sectors.
“Muno builds on a strong industrial legacy, but looks firmly to the future,” says Xavier Rafols, CEO of Muno. “We combine deep technical expertise with a start-up mindset to accelerate innovation and unlock new value for our customers and the industry as a whole.”
Innovation and sustainability form a central part of the company’s strategy, with 70% of its R&D projects dedicated to sustainability and 98% of its portfolio compliant with ZDHC standards. The business also holds more than 20 proprietary patents and reports compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 across its production facilities.
With its declared purpose of “Driving Innovation Forward,” Muno says it aims to streamline processes, reduce environmental impact and support the leather sector as it adapts to evolving market and regulatory demands.
