The Africa Leather and Leather Products Institute, in partnership with the COMESA Federation of Women in Business, conducted a field visit to women-owned leathergoods companies in Addis Ababa.
Part-funded by the Spanish government through African Union Development Agency, the Creating Opportunities for Youth and Women in Africa programme aims to empower women- and youth-owned SMEs in Ethiopia and Zimbabwe by providing advice, connections and technical support.
ABKA Leather, LINU Leather and Kabana Leather were praised for the quality of their bags and shoes, and their feedback will inform the programme’s direction.
